The National Runaway Safeline (NRS) with support from the Family Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) will host a virtual Roundtable to kick-off National Runaway Prevention Month (NRPM) in November 2022. The Roundtable will be held on November 3rd and will bring together representatives from national organizations, federal agencies, youth with lived experience and youth serving organizations to learn about the latest data, the needs of youth experiencing homelessness and those seeking support and find new ideas to address runaway and youth homelessness prevention.
NRS’ 2021 Crisis Services & Prevention Data Report will serve as the framework to guide the facilitated conversation. Those invited to participate in the roundtable will receive the data report in advance of the event and will assist with developing a series of recommendations for preventing and ending youth homelessness and runaway incidents. The overall goal of the event is to create a National Runaway Prevention Task Force led by NRS to assist with the implementation of the recommendations in 2023.
