In an effort to strengthen access to appropriate, affordable and available resources for runaway, homeless, exploited and at-risk youth and their families, the National Runaway Safeline (NRS) is entering into this Memorandum of Understanding which defines areas of cooperation between the National Runaway Safeline and the identified Resource Agency. The parties agree to the following:
The National Runaway Safeline agrees to:
Continue to provide 24-hour crisis intervention including chat, crisis email, crisis forum crisis hotline, conference calls, message relay and information and referral services to youth and families;
Provide referrals as appropriate and in accordance with the information provided by Resource Agency;
Coordinate access to NRS’ Home Free family reunification program, conducted in collaboration with Greyhound Lines, Inc., and provide consultation and support to qualifying youth and families during the youth’s journey home.
The Resource Agency agrees to:
Complete the National Runaway Safeline’s Resource Agency Profile as fully and accurately as possible. An authorized representative of the Resource Agency will be responsible for providing the necessary information (such as contact information, criteria for access, hours of availability etc.) for NRS to provide accurate information regarding the Resource Agency’s programs and services.
The Resource Agency will provide the National Runaway Safeline, as soon as possible, of any substantive changes in the descriptions of programs offered or demographic populations.
The National Runaway Safeline and the Resource Agency agree to:
Communicate, not less than once a year, to assure accurate program information is available to each other;
Maintain regular communication via exchange of agency updates.
Terms of Agreement:
This MoU will become effective on the date it is signed by representatives of both parties, and will remain in effect except that either party may end the MoU by giving a 30-day written notice to the other.
